Abstract: The synthesis of a number of new polymerizable monomers containing functional groups is reported [(R)- and (S)-1-(4-vinylphenyl)ethylamine (R)-5 and (S)-5, (R), (S)-N,N-dimethyl-1-(4-vinylphenyl)ethylamine ((R),(S)-6, (R), (S)-trimethyl-1-(4-vinylphenyl)ethylammonium iodide ((R),(S)-7), dihydroxy-6-indenylborane (9), and (S)-2-(6-indentyl)-4-methyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolane (10)]. By racemic resolution optically pure (R)- as well as (S)-1(4-vinylphenyl)ethylamine could be obtained. Furthermore dihydroxy(4,6-dimethyl-7-indeyl)borane (11) was synthesized. The products were characterized by NMR spectroscopy
