Abstract: Metal-complexing imprinted polymer for L-mandelic acid was prepared using Cu(II)-[N-(4-vinylbenzyl)]iminodiacetic acid as functional monomer, trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate as crosslinker and methanol as porogenic agent. Chiral separation ability of metal-complexing imprinted polymer to D,L-mandelic acid was investigated by high performance liquid chromatography. The mobile phase conditions (pH, methanol content, buffer concentration, etc.) could significantly influence the chiral separation ability of metal-complexing imprinted polymer. Highly chiral selective to the template molecule by metal-complexing imprinted polymer was achieved as pH 7-9 of the mobile phase; the chiral separation ability of metal-complexing imprinted polymer was increased with the increase of methanol content and buffer concentration. It is suggested the feasibility to prepare highly selective molecularly imprinted polymer in polar solvent
