Abstract: Molecularly Imprinted Polymers (MIPs) are a functionalized, highly crosslinked polymers fashioned in the presence of a template molecule. We have previously shown that MIP can be effective sensors for small biomolecules when analyzed as an array. We have recently developed a method for measuring the binding of analytes to the MIP by monitoring fluorescence within the polymer. This ability to look directly at the polymer has enabled us to scale down the analysis process and use a titer plate thus giving higher accuracy, increased sensitivity and higher throughput. Presented herein, is our work towards the development of a scaled down system and the results attained through analysis using this system.
