Abstract: The carvedilol-molecularly imprinted polymer was synthesized successfully using carvedilol, methacrylic acid and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as template, functional monomer and cross-linking monomer, respectively, under the condition of UV photo-initiation.The polymeric material was characterized by scanning electronic microscope and thermogravimetric analysis. The binding characteristics of the polymer were evaluated by Scatchard analysis.A class of homogeneous recognition sites was formed in the polymer within the range of studied concentration, and the dissociation constant and the most apparent adsorption amount of the MIP had been calculated to be (0.5642) mmol/L and (97.44) μmol/g dry polymer, which corresponded to 63.53% of the theoretical value. The study on binding different substrates indicated that the MIP possessed excellent selectivity toward the template comparing to other analogs.
