Abstract: We synthesized molecularly imprinted polymers with azobenzene moieties, which arisen the photoisomerization by photoirradiation. The resulting imprinted polymers strongly absorbed a template molecule compared to blank polymers, which was prepared by co-polymerization without a template molecule. When ultraviolet light was irradiated to azobenzene appended polymers, the photoisomerization from trans form to cis form was confirmed by spectroscopic analysis in the imprinted polymers and blank polymers. We investigated the photocontrol of the interaction between the polymers and a template molecule. (author abst.)
