Abstract: A series of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) were prepared by the molecular template technology in methanol/water (V/V, 1/4) with rutin as the template molecule, methacrylic acid (MAA) or acrylamide(AM) as the functional monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as a crosslinker, and azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as evocating agent, respectively. The effect of the composition of polymerization systems of different functional monomer and dosage of functional monomer and crosslinker on the adsorption property of MIPs were studied. The character trials which involved the determination of the binding isothermal, the analysis of Scatchard plot carried out on the MIPs. Scatchard analysis showed that two classes of binding sites were produced in the polymermatrix and their dissociation constants were calculated to be 105.26 mg L-1 and 1250 mg L-1, and saturated adsorptive capacity were 18.02 mg g-1and 73.50 mg g-1, respectively. The results of IR demonstrated the formation of MIPs.
