Abstract: Molecularly imprinted composite membranes were synthesized successfully by in-situ polymerization. Poly ethylene fluoride(PVDF) film was used as supporting membrane,a layer of molecularly imprinted polymer was polymerized with p - chlorophenol ( 4 - CP) as template, acrylamide ( AM) as functional monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate ( EDMA) as crosslinker and azobisiobutyronitrile ( AIBN) as initiator by thermopolymerization. The structure and surface morphology of MIM were characterized by FT - IR and SEM. The adsorption capacity of the membrane was performed by static adsorption method. The maximum adsorption was almost three times than the blank membrane. The imprinted membrane showed higher selectrivity for 4 - cp than phenol, but similar with its anologue 2 - chlorophenol. The reason for this result maybe was that the size of the cave made by the template in the imprinted composite membrane was a little bigger than that of phenol molecule.
