Abstract: Molecularly imprinted polymer was one kind of polymers which had the specific effect. It has the advantage of pre-determined, recognition and practicability. Therefore it was widely used in analysis of food safety, pesticide residues, and drug control. Normal preparation methods of molecular imprinted polymers were bulk polymerization, in situ polymerization, suspension polymerization, and surface imprinting. Reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization and atom transfer radical polymerization were new methods developed in recent years. Their advantages included a modified high density, a controllable high polymer chain, and could get many new polymers. This paper reviewed some kind of synthesis methods of molecular imprinted polymers and the application in food safety.
