Abstract: A monolithic column is prepared by in situ polymerization or consolidation inside the column tubing. Both the simplicity of its preparation and the large variety of readily available chemistries make the monolithic separation media an attractive alternative to capillary column packed with particular materials. Monolithic column has quickly become a well- established phase form in capillary electrochromatography (CEC). The contributions of numerous research groups working in this rapidly growing area are reviewed in this paper
