Abstract: Chapter 11 deals first with materials science libraries. Their synthesis either on solid state or in solution is thoroughly explained and examples are presented from relevant recent publications. A section is then devoted to their screening to determine the presence of active composites in a library, and to their characterization to determine the structure of the active composite. Finally, polymeric libraries are covered with major emphasis on molecularly imprinted polymers and sensors.
