Book title: Adsorbents: Fundamentals and Applications
Editors: Yang RT
Publisher: John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
City: New York

Abstract: Three general types of sorbents, their basic adsorption properties, and their applications are introduced. The preparation and the general properties of silica gels are described in detail, followed by their surface chemistry with a discussion on the silanol number. The special properties of silica surface for chemical modification and molecular imprinting are introduced. The MCM-type molecular sieves and their adsorption properties are analyzed. Finally, activated alumina and its special sorbent properties are described.
