Abstract: The porous polystyrene was prepared by in situ precipitation method that was expected as one of the template-imprinting techniques. By adding poor solvent over the toluene gels of polystyrene formed using low molecular weight gelators, in situ precipitation was performed, and removal of gelators from the precipitated poly(styrene) gave porous polymers which almost kept both size and shape of the original gels macroscopically. Furthermore, SEM observations demonstrated that the supramolecular structures formed by the gelators were microscopically imprinted in polystyrene
