Synthesis and Characterization of Norfloxacin-imprinted Sol-Gel Materials.

Abstract: Norfloxacin-imprinted sol-gel materials were prepared by molecular imprinting technique in combination with sol-gel process. In this process, Norfloxacin was applied as the template, 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) as function polymer, tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) as cross linker. The materials were characterized by FT-IR spectra and N2 adsorption. Kinetic binding, loading isotherm and competitive loading of NFXS,OFX and CLX by the imprinted and nonimprinted materials were also studied. The experiments showed that the imprinted materials had high selectivity of norfloxacin.
