Abstract: This review details recent progress in the design and synthesis of artificial enzymes. Particular emphasis is given to some of the more recent developments in 'selection approaches' towards enzyme mimics. Furthermore, dynamic combinatorial libraires (DCLs) and related research is described with reference to possible applications in the field of artificial enzymes.
