Abstract: The article covers the methods that are currently available for the preparation of molecularly imprinted polymers The disadvantages of the conventional grinding of bulk polymerized blocks of imprinted polymer are first identified. The newer methods are divided into four sections: suspension polymerization; modified surfaces; polymer colloids and finally miscellaneous techniques such as the use of linear polymers. Each alternative method is compared with the grinding method and the relative advantages and disadvantages identified
