Abstract: QCM sensors targeting endocrine disrupters have been developed utilizing molecular imprinting technique. Because endocrine disruptors are hydrophobic but posses few hydrogen bonding sites, we chose amylose, which can form helical inclusion complexes with hydrophobic guests, as a host matrix. Amylose modified with polymerizable groups was formed an inclusion complex with a template molecule then copolymerized with a monomer so that we could obtain a crosslinked polymer. After removal of the template molecule, the imprinted polymer showed selective affinity to the original template molecule. To apply the imprinted polymer as a sensing element, polymerization was done on a QCM resonator surface. The QCM system exhibited high sensitivity toward the imprinted molecule.
