Abstract: A simple and inexpensive DNA detection method has been developed by modification of electrophoresis through a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) gel for recognizing a specific dsDNA tarnet sequence. The detection method is based on the migration hindrance of target dsDNA by capture effect of binding sites in MIP gel. The detection capacity of this method was confirmed with target dsDNA and its mutant dsDNAs. The results suggest that the binding sites existing in the MIP gel can distinguish A-T base pair from C-G base pair and G-C base pair, but can not distinguish A-T base pair from T-A base pair. A miniaturization of this equipment was also tried
