Abstract: In order to prepare of a water affinity molecularly imprinted polymer, poly-(ethyleneglycol)-diacrylate was used as the water-soluble crosslinking agent. An ionic complex as an assembly between a template molecule and a functional monomer, and water as porogenic solvent were also utilized for the preparation of the imprinted polymer. The results of chromatographic evaluations for the prepared polymers suggested that the polymer had much lower hydrophobicity compared with usual octadecyl group bonded silica or the usual molecularly imprinted polymer prepared from ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate. Furthermore, the selective recognition ability for template molecule was obtained in the real aqueous condition. (author abst.)
