Abstract: A molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) with high selectivity was prepared by precipitated polymerization using Sudan red I as template molecule, α-methacrylic acid (MAA) as functional monomer and ethylene glycol-methyl acrylate (EGDMA) as cross-linker. The adsorption property of the MIP was evaluated by equilibrium binding experiments, and the recognition mechanism of the MIP was also investigated by UV spectrum and 1H NMR. The results showed that the template molecule could interact with the functional monomer by cooperative hydrogen bonding. Infrared spectra further demonstrated the specific non-covalent hydrogen bonds between MIP and the template molecule.
