Abstract: A simple and effective procedure based on molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) was developed for preparing a selective p-hydroxybenzoic acid (PHA) sensor. The sensitive layer was prepared by electropolymerization of o-phenylenediamine on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) in the presence of PHA as a template. Under the optimum conditions, PHA could be determined quantitatively in the range of 0.6 ~ 8.0 μmol/L with a detection limit of 0.2 μmol/L (S/N = 3). The MIP sensor showed high selectivity, sensitivity and reproducibility for the detection of PHA, which could be used to monitor the release of PHA by plant in real time.
