Abstract: Using dibenzothiophene (DBT) as template,4-vinyl pyridine(4-VP)as function monomer and TiO2 as carrier,a surface molecularly imprinted polymer(TiO2 @MIP)was synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP).The sorbents were characterized by the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, nitrogen adsorption and scanning electron microscopy. The adsorption properties of the sorbents were investigated in the model oil.The results indicated that a molecular imprinted layer with porous structure was successfully synthesized on the surface of silica, and TiO2 @MIP not only had better surface characteristics but it also performed good specific recognition to DBT.The adsorption process followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model, and it was described well by Freundlich isotherm model. The adsorption thermodynamic parameters showed the adsorption was spontaneous endothermic.
