Abstract: Flavonol and berillium selective polymers were prepared using the molecular imprinting technique. Some of their microstructural characteristics were evaluated by atomic force microscopy. The molecular recognition capabilities of the prepared polymers were evaluated by optical transduction in a flaw-through system. The results showed that imprinted polymers can be designed to function as sensing materials in order to develop biomimetic optical sensors. In this work the analytical potential of the biomimetic optical sensors developed is outlined
