Abstract: Molecular imprinted polymers of solanesol (SSO-MIPs) were synthesized through solution polymerization using solanesol (SSO) as the template molecule, N-vinylpyrrolidone (NVP) and acrylic acid (AA) as functional monomers, ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as cross-linker and azodiisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as initiator. Focused on the adsorption capacity and separation degree of MIP-SSO to SSO from the mixture of SSO and Triacontanol (TAL), the effects of the monomers, cross-linker and initiators on them were investigated and optimized. Finally, the structure of MIP-SSO prepared under the optimal conditions was characterized using Fourier transform infrared and scanning electron microscope. To obtain the more objective results, non-imprinted molecular polymers (NMIPs) prepared under the same condition was also characterized as contrast
