Abstract: In this study, a simple electrochemical sensor based on glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with molecularly imprinted chitosan film doping with acetylene black (AB) has been developed for the determination of bisphenol A (BPA). Several important parameters controlling the performance of the sensor are investigated and optimised. Two good linear relationships between the oxidation peak current and BPA concentration are obtained in the ranges from 0.005 to 0.20 μM and 0.50 to 10.00 μM with a detection limit of 2 nM (S/N=3). Meanwhile, the fabricated sensor shows good selectivity and high sensitivity. The construction of this sensor is relatively simple and provided a rapid and economical electrochemical method for the determination of BPA. The sensor is successfully employed to detect BPA in drinking water samples
