Abstract: Molecular imprinting is among one of the finest techniques for crafting synthetic antibodies especially for virus recognition. Molecular imprinted polymers (MIPs) have been extensively studied for their excellent biorecognition properties as they provide high sensitivity and selectivity. MIPs are proficient for working in complex biological matrices, stable against harsh conditions, and more importantly possess reversible binding characteristics. In this entry, the contribution of MIPs in context to their virus-sensing applications along with different strategies for virus imprinting would be discussed following their exemplary applications
