Abstract: A series of molecularly imprinted polymer(MIP)microspheres were prepared by precipitation polymerization of methacrylic acid(MAA)and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate(EGDMA)using baicalein as template in different amount of solvent.UV spectrometry was employed to demonstrate the interaction mechanism between baicalein and MAA.The structure of polymer microspheres was characterized by IR spectrometry and FESEM and the adsorption capacity was tested by adsorption kinetics and selective adsorption experiments. The results show that the baicalein-MAA complexes of 1:4mole ratios are obtained by cooperative hydrogen bonding. The structure of polymer is influenced significantly, the shape of MIPs from irregular mass to spheres and the microspheres particle size increases gradually with increasing of the solvent volume. The pseudo-second order kinetic model and the physical adsorption are conformed to the adsorption process of MIPs for baicalein.Comparing to quercetin and chloramphenicol, the MIPs for baicalein shows a high equilibrium adsorption capacity, the separation factor is 17.69 and 26.03,respectively.
