Abstract: By copolymerization of 4-nitrophenyl -D-mannopyranoside-2,3;4,6-di-O-(4-vinylphenylboronate) (1) with ethylene dimethacrylate and methyl methacrylate macroporous polymers were obtained, in which after cleavage of the template, 4-nitrophenyl -D-mannopyranoside (2), chiral cavities with two boronic acid groups are present. From the dependence of the specificity for the resolution of racemates on the covering percentage of the cavities the frequency distribution of the specificity of the cavities could be deduced. With the distribution curve at hand the factors are discussed, which govern the conservation and the loss of specificity
