Abstract: Chiral cavities of specific shape with binding groups in defined stereochemical arrangement were prepared by a special kind of template polymerization with the aid of L-phenylalanine or L-phenylalanine-anilide as templates. The binding reaction chosen involved azomethine formation of the group of the amino acid with an aldehyde group of the polymer. Polymers thus prepared and freed from the template were capable of resolving the racemate of the template used. Separation factors, a, in the range of 1.22–1.36 were obtained in the batch procedure.
