Abstract: Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) for Dexamethasone (DM) have been synthesized by precipitation polymerization. A non-covalent imprinted polymer has been prepared using Dexamethasone as template, methacrylic acid (MAA) as functional monomer, and trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate (TRIM) as cross-linker, and Azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as initiator, and acetonitrile as progenic solvent. Imprinted Dexamethasone (DM) molecules were removed from the polymeric structure using acetic acid in methanol (1:9 v/v %) as the eluting solvent. Morphological characteristics have been determined by atomic force microscopy that featured the MIP particles were spherical with average diameter of 245 nm. Chemical characteristics have been investigated by FTIR analysis.
