Abstract: Organophosphate (OP) compounds comprise a broad range of pesticides, broadly used in agricultural and industrial sector for the prevention or destruction of any pest. As a consequence of their widespread usage, they cause genotoxic, teratogenic as well as other environmental and ecological adverse impact. OPs detection using traditional methods is still in practice though face limitations and other techniques such as biosensors are gaining attention due to their appreciable detection limit and sensitivity. The current review is focused on the developed electrochemical biosensors using various nanomaterials for the detection of OPs. The significance and limitations of the biomolecules and non-biomolecules based electrochemical biosensors for the OP analysis have been discussed in detail
