Abstract: A novel molecularly imprinted electrochemical sensor was prepared with chitosan as functional matrix and L-tyrosine (L-Tyr) as template molecule by potentiostatic electrodeposition. According to our experimental results, the molecular imprinted polymer (MIP) sensor with an imprinted factor of 3.34 showed well sensitivity and good selectivity to L-Tyr among the structural similarities and co-existences. The oxidation peak currents of differential pulse voltammetry were linear to the concentration of L-Tyr in the range from 4.0 x 10-7 to 1.0 x 10-4 mol L-1 with a detection limit of 2. 0 x 10-7 mol L-1. Furthermore, the recoveries ranged from 89.50% to 99.67% were obtained when the sensor was applied to real samples analysis.
