Abstract: Trace environmental pollutants cause serious threatens to human health. As a kind of highly efficient and stable molecular recognition system, molecularly imprinted supramolecules possess broad prospect in monitoring and controlling trace environmental pollutants. This paper briefly retrospects the development of molecularly imprinting technology, summarizes its application in monitoring trace environmental pollutants, and demonstrates a variety of processes and strategies for the treatment of trace environmental pollutants, such as coupling molecularly imprinting with bio-catalysis or photocatalysis. Finally, the basic science and key technical problems faced by the research and applications of molecularly imprinting in monitoring and controlling trace environmental pollutants are discussed.
