Article title: UO22+ ions selective phosphate bearing polymer: imprinting and computational modeling
Page numbers: 74

Abstract: The industrial waste containing heavy metal ions need to be treated before releasing into the environment because of their toxicity and bio-accumulation Among them is uranium, apart from its acute cytotoxicity it has also got extensive applications in nuclear industry The maximum allowed permissible limits of uranium in drinking water is 15 ng mL-1 according to WHO Therefore, it needs to extracted/separated from waste water and process effluents Seawater is an important source of uranium and selectively extracting uranium from sea water in the presence of number of other interfering ions is a challenging aspect Among many available methods the molecular imprinting technique (MIT) has attracted considerable attention because of selective recognition based on coordination geometrical requirements In this work, we have synthesized a polymer gel by segregating the functional monomer by using a matrix forming monomer
Template and target information: uranyl ion
