Abstract: The molecularly imprinted polymeric microspheres (MIPMS) was prepared via suspension polymerization, using cimetidine as printing molecule, 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid (AMPS) as functional monomer and trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate.(TRIM) as cross-linker. The major factors that influence the sizes and size distribution of the MIPMS were discussed, and the molecule selecting property of the MIPMS were evaluated by using them as solid-phase extraction sorbents. The results showed that MIPMS between 60 similar to 310 μm in average diameter could be prepared by varying the dosage of dispersant, hydroxy ethylic cellulose, using proper amount of toluene as dilute as well. The cimetidine imprinted MIPMS had a considerable property of molecule selecting to cimetidine with the separate factor up to 1.75 when L- Phenylalanine was used as competitive molecule, and the MIPMS also exhibited a good regeneration property. On the other hand the control polymers had no molecule selecting property at all, which well confirms the effect of imprinting
