Abstract: The design, processing, and characterization of a novel magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) have been accomplished and applied to extract malathion from plasma samples. FTIR, X-ray diffraction, SEM, and vibrating sample magnetometric (VSM) methods were used to characterize the MIP particles. The selectivity of the MIP for the extraction of malathion was examined in the presence of some similar organophosphorus pesticides, including fenitrothion, fosalon, dichlorvos, dimethoate, ethion, and diazinon. Results revealed that Langmuir constant, the limit of detection, and maximum enrichment capacity for malathion are 876 μg L -1, 7 μg L -1, and 5, respectively
