Abstract: Chemical vapor deposition of silicon alkoxide was carried Out oil a tin oxide surface under the presence of template molecule, ill order to form micropores on macroporous particles. During the deposition of alkoxide, acetic acid was added in order to accelerate the formation of siloxane. After removal of the template and acetic acid, the chemisorption capacities of aldehydes were measured. The template molecule itself and the smaller molecule were adsorbed, while the adsorption of larger molecule was almost completely suppressed. The shape selective adsorption capacity is thus observed, and the presence of cavity whose shape and size were finely controlled by the template molecule is suggested. The thus prepared SiO2/SnO2 was applied to catalytic oxidation (combustion) of alkane. The reactant shape selectivity in which the reaction of branched isomer was suppressed by the formed cavity was observed in the reactions Of C-6 and C-8 alkanes
