Abstract: In this article, the preparation of uniformly sized molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) by a multi-step swelling and polymerization method and the use of these for chiral separation and bioanalysis is reported. A restricted access media (RAM)-MIP, a uniformly sized MIP selectively modified with a hydrophilic external layer, for a pseudo-template compound was also prepared. This was done through a combination of molecular imprinting and hydrophilic surface modification techniques and the obtained RAM-MIP was used for direct injection analysis of drugs in biological fluids by a column-switching HPLC system.
