Abstract: The emphasis of our work on this project is to develop a sensor for the detection of the nerve agent VX using simulants as templates in molecularly imprinted polymers. A method to quantify the amount of VX simulant used in the creation of a sensor is necessary in order to discover the best method of removing the VX simulant. Through use of GC/MS, a quantification using an internal standard can be made to measure the percentage of simulant that is being leached. The results of our efforts in quantifying the amount of VX simulants leached from thin film molecularly imprinted polymers will be discussed.
