Abstract: Ultrasonically emulsion polymerization was used to produce polystyrene microparticles. Using polystyrene particles as seed, theophylline as imprinted molecular , methacrylic acid as a functional monomer and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as cross-linker, uniformly sized molecular imprinted polymers(MIP) were prepared by two step swelling polymerization. The absorption capability was determined and found the MIP has absorption with a good selectivity on theophylline. The factors which effect on the size and shape of the MIP were also discussed.
Template and target information: theophylline
