Abstract: Silica particles were modified with polymerizable double bonds on the surface. Then the molecular imprinting polymer imprinted with theophylline was grafted to the surface of modified silica. The molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) based on the surface of silica was characterized by IR, element analysis, and scanning electron microscopy. The adsorption of theaphylline by MIP was measured. The separation property of MIP toward theaphylline and caffeine was investigated by thin layer chromatography
