Abstract: A molecularly imprinted polymer was prepared by molecular imprinting technique using acrylamide as monomer, rhodamine 6G as template moLecule and a large excess of ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate as the cross-linking agent. The bulk polymer obtained was investigated in equilibrium binding experiments to evaluate the moLecular recognition and binding characteristics of the rhodamine 6G moLecularly imprinted polymer.Scatchard analysis showed that two sites were produced in the polymer matrix and their dissociation constants were calculated to be 7.64 x 10(-4)moL/L and 4.35 x 10(-3) moL/L, respectively. The substrate selectivity of imprinted polymer and non-imprinted polymer was investigated. The results showed that the imprinted polymer exhibited much higher affinity for rhodamine B among the tested compounds.
