Abstract: Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) have the properties of selective recognition and enrichment, and it also has the properties of stability and lower cost. It usually serves as selective materials of sensors and as solidphase extraction (SPE) of several kinds of detection system. The current state of the art in the use of MIPs as selective materials of the sensor and the SPE of detection system in the water quality detection field are reviewed, and the trends of the MIPs apply to water quality detection field are also discussed. It is pointed out that the keystones of the application of MIPs in the water quality detection field are CAD, the polymerizing of water-phase polymers, the producing of sensitive sensor and the effectively washing off the template molecular etc.
