Abstract: The surface molecularly imprinted adsorbent synthesized by the method of molecular imprinting technology has been proved to be excellent to adsorb transition metal ions, especially in the removal of Cr 3+.The results show that the maximum adsorption capacity for Cr 3+ was about 60 mg/g and its adsorption behavior follows the equation of Langmuir. The absorption capacity is 50 mg/g when the initial concentration of Cr 3+ was 200 mg/g at pH 3~4.The ionic strength had negligible effect on the adsorption. The saturated absorbent can be desorbed by 0.5 mol/L nitric acid or sulfuric acid solution, with a 90% desorption rate of Cr 3+.
