Abstract: Objective:Piezoelectric quartz crystal was used to detect the odorants using molecularly imprinted polymer as the recognition element.Methods:Directly synthesize of molecularly imprinted polymer on quartz crystal,The different amout of odorants having similar structure were used to research the selectivity of imprinted sensor and non imprinted sensor.Results:Piezoelectric quartz crystals coated with n butanol imprinted polymer showed higher response than other odorants having similar structure.Conclusion:Molecular imprinting provides a simple,inexpensive way of creating matrices with high affinity for enormous range of compounds.The simplicity and efficacy of this method has deep implication for the construction of selective odorant sensor.
