Article Title: Isolation of theanine from China green tea by using a molecularly imprinted polymer as a SPE sorbent.
Publication date: 2007

Abstract: Three different molecularly imprinted polymers (MIP) with L-theanine as a template were prepared and tested. Non-imprinted polymers (NIP) synthesized in the absence of the template in polymerization mixture were prepared for each MIP. The best results were obtained for MIP prepared from Nylon 6 as a functional monomer. The specific binding capacity for MIP for L-theanine in water was 2,6 μg/l g of MIP. The capacities of structurally related compounds were similar to that of L-theanine. MIP prepared from Nylon 6 was used as a sorbent for SPE (MISPE) to isolate theanine from china green tea extract. The purged extract was obtained, the recovery of MISPE was 87,8% ± 5,5%
Template and target information: L-theanine
