Abstract: Polymer supported Mn catalysts were synthesized by different methods and their characteristics were comparatively investigated. Precipitation polymerization and postpolymerization complexation, alternatives belonging to molecularly imprinting polymers (MIP) strategy, like sacrificial spacer route, were some of the involved preparation methodologies. The products properties were studied for different polymerization conditions (i.e. nature and concentration of the functional monomer). Spectral and thermal analysis techniques, as well as scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observation were used for the characterization of the resulted heterogeneous compounds. A polymer-Cu(II) complex was also prepared in order to elucidate the structure of the Mn-based catalysts. Preliminary tests on the use in olefin epoxidation were run
