Abstract: This account briefly discusses methods of in-cavity synthesis with the main focus on molecularly imprinted polymers and selfassembled capsules. Discussed are examples that highlight recent progress and outline key challenges for the further development of in-cavity synthesis. Emphasis is intentionally placed at potential applications in drug discovery and combinatorial technologies
