Abstract: The molecularly imprinted poly(4-vinylpyridine) electropolymerized onto an optically transparent electrode was characterized by using Infrared attenuated total reflection (ATR) spectroscopy. The bond formation during the electropolymerization process in-situ was also investigated. Infrared radiation was guided through an attenuated total reflection (ATR) crystal coated with a nitrogen doped diamond-like carbon (DLC) thin film electrode serving as the deposition surface. The evanescent field penetrates into the adjacent medium to spectroscopically probe the electropolymerization process
