Abstract: Protein recognition by artificial receptors is of great interest in biochemistry and bioengineering. Here we prepared polymer layer imprinted with metal complexes in the presence of template proteins. The polymer obtained was analyzed by surface plasmon resonance (SPR) to study selective recognition of the target proteins. As molecular interaction between metal complexes and proteins was investigated, ethylenediamine, cyclen, and porphyrin were used as functional monomers of metal complexes in molecular imprinting. Application of the present strategy to the preparation of protein chips by using metal-fluorophore conjugates will also be discussed. (author abst.)
