Abstract: Molecular imprinted polymer (MIP) coated Quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) sensors were fabricated for the detection of "Phenol" in the liquid phase. The MIP-QCM sensor was designed for the selective detection of Phenol. MIP, contained specific cavities by self organized structure of functional monomers around a template, was synthesized on QCM Au electrode with covered self assemble monolayer (SAM). SAM had ion-pair interactions with functional monomers to form proper adhesions between MIP and QCM electrode. This MIP-QCM sensor method contributed to sensitivity and selectivity for single molecular recoginition, however, the mixed solution (bisphenol A (BPA) and phenol) was not be recognized. In this study, MIP-QCM sensor array using vector analysis made the recognition of mixed solution possible. The array consists two MIP-QCM sensors elements, which were coated with MIP for BPA and Phenol. Analysis of frequency shifts of the array determined concentration of phenol and BPA in mixed solution. These MIP-QCM sensor array system was proved to be applicable to molecular recognition system. (author abst.)
